Butterfly Zipper Pouch

Free Hand Machine Embroidery with Raw Edge Applique

I've been quite busy over the last couple of weeks, so have not got as much stitching and blogging done as usual, but today I managed to sew this little linen pouch;

It features plenty of upcycled materials including this butterfly fabric and the same pair of linen curtains which I have used for most of my projects this year - I'm ready for the car boot season to start, so that I can source some 'new' fabric to replenish my depleted stash. The zip is also recycled and probably older than me!

The little butterflies were based on a digital stamp by Wendy Massey over at Handmade Harbour.
The back has a little appliqued butterfly, cut from the main fabric, and a 'SewforSoul' label.

The pouch has a lovely Summer feel, although outside my window it's raining.
Roll on warmer days!

    1. The biggest one in the North East is Seaham, but I can't face the drive, much too tricky for me! I tend to go to the one at Sedgefield and I get there early so that I don't panic about squeezing into a tight parking space. I get all of my fabric at boot sales (and anything else that catches my eye). Do you go?

    2. My hubby has done a couple of stalls when we've been cluttering - we are getting stuff together for another one as I can't be bothered to put it on eBay but never really shopped but now the weather is picking up I might have a nosy as its not too far from me x

  4. Hafa adai from Guam! Love this sweet little pouch! How long would you say (start to finish) this little gal took you to whip up?

    I'm nearly ready to begin my "headboard" map panel! *wink*

    Happy dry days,

    1. Once I actually get started under two hours, but I am a terrible procrastinator and usually manage to waste way too long before forcing myself to get actually going!
